15 Months

Wow Deion is 15 months already, how time flies! I read a book of names today and looked up Deion's name and it said: "handsome, intelligent, funny, popular, and cool" That describes my son to a T! I know I am biased because I am his mother but I really think I have the most handsome, the most intelligent, the funniest, and the coolest little guy around. I also have to add that he is also the happiest little kid I've ever met. He is such a lady killer! I cannot take him anywhere without people taking double takes at him and then he flirts so hard with his big dimply smile and then he sucks them in when he stares back and says a nice long sweet "Hiii" and then there's the hair. All the girls HAVE to touch his curly hair. His daddy says the "Curls get the Girls" and he is right. Also all the little girls around our apartment are also giving him kisses and they are like 2 years old. Wow I am just going to have a handful with that kid!

What a day

Today was just not a good day for me. I don't want to get into specifics but it was a pretty down day for me. I think that Deion was able to pick up that I was down because for the very first time ever he gave me "kisses." There were all I needed. I know I can count on him to lift me up. Also very sad day because Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett died today. Sad, sad, sad.

Here he his eating on the job!

He was digging his dump truck dirt cake!

Wow I'm such a slacker! So much has happened in the last 3 months that I posted anything. Deion started walking at 11 months, just in time for his birthday. Also, he is sprouting 2 more teeth! And just this weekend we had his birthday party. It was construction themed and Deion had a great time with everyone!

9 months and baby steps

Deion has been practicing standing on his own. It's so exciting to see him standing and trying to get his balance right. I haven't seen it yet, but apparently he took some baby steps already last week. So the walking is about to come and I think we are ready for it!

Happy Valentine's Day

MY LITTLE CUPID

TESTING OUT THE WINGS

Well our Valentine's Day was pretty eventful. I did plan on taking professional pictures of Deion on V day but he was not feeling too good. I dressed him up like cupid and took some pics around the house with him (i'm sure he'll hate me for this later) , but at least I didn't take him out in public like that, right? I would have, i'm sure but he was way too sick for it. We think he's teething pretty bad or has a stomach flu because he couldn't keep anything down, he kept vomiting and having diarhhea. We went out to Tony Roma's with Deion anyway because we couldn't find a babysitter. We met my cousin and her husband there but towards the end of the meal Deion had pooed all over me!! It was pretty bad and smelly. What a way to end the night! He's a lot better now. Oh and Daddy got him his first pair of Jordans for Valentine's day-now he just needs to learn to walk in them : )

8 months old

Deion has turned 8 months today! A lot of things are going on physically with him, like his thighs are getting leaner, I miss his chubby thighs! Of course this is because he is so much more active and he can not stay still for one minute, it's even hard to change his diaper with him squirming and turning so much. And forget about the bumbo seat, the one place I thought he couldn't escape, but he can easily turn and twist his way out of there-I just couldn't believe it! He's quite a handful, and that's because he hasn't even started walking yet! Wow! I do love this stage though-I just love watching him explore and figure things out, he's such a smart little boy for sure. I have to watch him so closely because everything, I mean EVERYTHING goes into his mouth, expecially small shiny things he'll try to go for like coins and keys, and for some reason he goes after paper a lot and any cords sticking out of the wall. I can say that I've had a lot of practice using my mommy voice with saying "NO" a lot to him, I'm hoping he learns that word well by the time he's 1. Also wanted to report that we have 4, count them 4! teeth, not 2, coming in on the upper front.

Going mobile

Deion has been practicing standing up a lot lately. He's a master crawler now and he will even venture into dark hallways, he's a brave one that's for sure. I think he'll be trying to walk here soon and be able to do it alone within a month. He's also getting more chompers-his two front teeth are coming through!

Bouncy Boy

We went over to Everett this weekend to spend time with our family. Deion got to hang out with my cousin's little girl, Isabella, who is about his age, and my did he have fun with her. He would climb all over her, tried to take her toys, and he even tried to take the spotlight when we were trying to get pictures of the both of them. He acted like such a bully and she was just a sweet little lady. They were really funny though, and we laughed so hard just watching the two of them interact. He was so full of energy and laughing the whole time we were there and now I think my brother and his wife want kids more than ever, he tends to make couples baby crazy.

Deion won't let her get away

Poor little girl, Deion's tackling her

...And here he is taking away her toy

Here is our bouncy boy having fun with Pearl

Kinda crawling

I have been slacking on posting a blog, I can't believe it's already the middle of December and Deion will be 7 months soon! I have just been so busy with the holidays and everything, and Deion has been doing so many new things lately so I should problably catch up on his new skills. Like first of all, he is learning to crawl, well if you want to call it that anyway. It's more like him going forward on his tip toes and lunging forward. He's also become an expert at rolling from front to back and back to front. And he can also sit up on his own when he is lying down. He likes to get his hands on everything in sight! I can tell already that he is going to be a handful-OH MY! Also his two bottom teeth are so big now, he's got some pearly whites for sure. Well that's it in a nutshell.

Here is a video showing his first crawling moves. December 4, 2008.

1st Thanksgiving

Here's Deion trying to sneak a piece of meat

We had our very first family Thanksgiving together and it was perfect (because Will did all the cooking)! I came home from work and the table was set with dinner. The boys had been busy cooking all day, and I must say the Turkey was the juciest and best Turkey I had ever ate. Will had smoked the Turkey and he was very proud of his smoke rings and so was I! It was so good that Deion even wanted to eat some. He tried very hard to get to it as you can see from the pictures-maybe next year baby!

6 months old

Having dinner at Azteca for Jose and Deion's B-day

Deion is 6 months old today and he has accomplished so much in so little time. He has learned to sit up on his own, start eating solid foods, laughs and giggles, has taken a big boy bath, and has even sprung a tooth! He can also roll but he still hasn't rolled from back to belly yet and it seems like crawling or actually, scooting, is going to be his next feat. He likes playing with his toys and when he's on his belly, he will turn around and do a complete 360 on his belly to look at them all, he just can't go forward. He also loves to get anything and everything into his mouth expecially our remote controls! I even bought him his very own, but there is no fooling this little boy because he will still throw a fit to get our remote into his mouth!

Splash Splash Deion's takin' a bath

We decided to take off the holding mesh from the infant bath tub so that Deion can sit up instead of lie down, because he would always try to sit up anyway. Will did this yesterday and I missed his first "big" bath. Will told me he was splashing around so I just couldn't wait to give him a bath today. Oh my was he splashin'! He was just going crazy with the water and loving it. We were having such a good time that I just let him play in the water for a while and by the time I went to record, half the water was already gone. Will was in the back making faces, that's why he keeps looking up in the video and smiling. He was so tired after his bath that he slept like a baby afterwards-what a great way to wear him out!

Hair

Bed Hair

My little spider killer

Okay so Deion's hair is getting a little out of control. It just keeps getting longer in the top middle part of his head and no where else. I asked Will if I can just clip a little off the top, but he said absolutely not, he doesn't want me touching his hair. I'm going to have to start buying this kid hair product-he's going to have his own gel bottle at only 5 months old! It does get really cute though with all the curls on top. I hope it stays like that.

Happy Halloween!

Scary lil' guys
Are you thinking Chilis tonight?

Look what we found on our doorstep

When I got off work at 5:00 on Halloween, I rushed home to get me and Deion ready. Well I had bought his little Dino Costume (he was going to be Deion the Dino) like a month ago, but when I went to put it on him-it was too tight! I called both FM stores to see if they had a bigger size but they didn't so I thought our Halloween was going to be ruined. But thankfully I searched Craigslist real quick and a lady was selling this Chili Pepper costume for $9 and I was so lucky to get it last minute and our Halloween was saved! He looked so darn cute and we had fun with it all night. He was one hot pepper!

It was Deion's first trip to the pumpkin patch yesterday and he had a blast. I can't wait untill next year when he can walk around with us.

5 months and eating

One happy (and messy!) little baby
D is officially 5 months old today. I decided today was a good day to try some rice cereal. He liked it very much. He would even cry for more and opened his mouth real wide when it was coming to his mouth. He's going to be a good eater for sure.

Sitting up

Sitting like a big boy

It's another baby landmark! Deion has mastered sitting up by himself. He was wobbly there for a few weeks but now he is steady and we don't have to worry about him falling over. He's going to be 5 months here soon and I also think he is getting ready for solid foods because he drools so much when he sees me and Will eat. He tries to go for our food! He'll probably double in size once he starts eating, ha ha and then he'll really be a rolly polly!

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

SLEEPING ON THE TRAIN RIDE TO CHICAGO

MEETING HIS COUSIN DESHAWN

ON THE WAY BACK TO SEE MOMMY

SMILING FOR DADDY

The boys are back from their trip, and I am so very happy now. Will did such a great job of taking care of "D" by himself, especially being on the train for 2 days going there and the 2 days it took to come back. Now Deion, at only 4 months old, has been across more states than I have in my 26 years! He's been on a plane and a train now, and I haven't even been on a train once. That just goes to show that he is going to be a world traveler. I'm happy that Will's side of the family finally got to see the baby. Now we're planning to go alltogether next year, that should be a lot of fun.

So Sad without the fellas

So it's been 3 days since my boys left me and headed to Chicago on the train. Will took Deion on the train to go see his family and take care of some business in Chicago. I think it's a good thing that Deion finally gets to meet his grandma, his aunties, his uncle, and his cousin, but I'm very lonely without them. I just don't know what to do with myself so I've been cleaning and cleaning as much as I can until they come home on Sunday. I told Will to take plenty of pictures, so I will post them when they get back.
